Again: I am A big Mac fan! BUT: iMacs 1.200$ -> Iris Pro=Bullshit for Video editing 1.500$ wich is the price he is looking fore -> GT 750M=REALY not enungh what he needs is a Quadro When it comes to editing a lot of the load is done on the processor, then again this does vary between applications, I suggested the iMac since it is the best performing for that price range.

The Mac mini will work for basic 1080p editing, iMovie-level stuff. Windows media player for the mac. I can do basic edits well on my 2011 MacBook Pro, which has similar hardware to a 2011 Mac mini.

In most cases for editing a better CPU is normally suggested, but it really depends on the software used. For 3D modelling a lot of the load is put on the CPU as well. The best Mac to get for that price range is the iMac, not the Mac mini.

I believe the Mac Mini uses mobile CPUs compared to the full desktop ones found in the iMac as well. The editing is done on the processor but the Rendering on both CPU and GPU. Allso the processors are not that fast I am writing this post on my iMac 2012. It´s a awesome PC but to slow for Video editing it´s crap.

I myself were editing my stuff on it we canged to my friend pc (some i7+gtx570) More fun there but also not good. As I said GET A QUADRO. Mac mini AND iMac use the 'S' versions of the processors (lower TDP but also lower calculating power). Apple and price? A normal ATX build with the power of an iMac wold cost around 300 Bugs less. I personally lover OS X and the apple design so its ok for me to pay 300$ more. Ever considered a Hackintosh?
