It's not too bad. Plenty of ways around it once you adjust. If you really hate terminal (or have a larger project that would suck to do in terminal only), you only need to ssh to turn in homework. And there are tools like Sublime text's SFTP to make the process of syncing local and server work almost seemless. For smaller projects, I sometimes prefer my own terminal setup (there are utilities I have that I can't install on the school computers) at home and use scp when it's time to test and turn in. Since Mac OS comes with a Unix-based OS it makes development a lot easier. When I had a windows computer I had to download a bunch of add-ons since no one uses windows command prompt for development.

Of course you could dual-boot a Windows but why go through that hassle when you could have everything one place? Couple other things: • Screen is beautiful, vibrant colors that will make your IDE and code-highlighting look sick (and any other experience you have on it). By far the best screen on any computer i have ever used. • Keyboard takes some getting-used to. It has a low-profile keyboard, which has grown on me. • If you don't get the touch-bar, you only get 2 USB-C drives which can be annoying if you do other stuff like video-editing.

I use one for charging and another with a dongle to connect any other regular USB cables. I haven't had a need for any other ports.

• I personally like Macs a lot because the trackpad is so smooth. When I had a Windows computer I always felt like I wanted to use a mouse since the trackpad was poorly built. With a Mac, I haven't felt the need to use a mouse ever.
